AltAss Ratings (On a scale of 1 to 5 asses)

Plot & Writing:

While not ground breaking the plot line had a lot of potential for a fun and entertaining movie.  Unfortunately this film rarely approaches that potential largely due to poor writing that seemed to impede any comedic rhythym and flow.

Acting:

There were no atrocities in this category, but there weren't any homeruns either.  Forest Whitaker is no comedian and fans of Carlos Mencia's stand up will wonder when he turned into George Lopez.  Charlie Murphy is the funniest guy on the screen but he's only on it for a few short minutes.

Originality:

This movie was MUCH better the first time when it was called "Father of the Bride" starring Steve Martin and/or "Guess Who" starring Bernie Mac and Ashton Kutcher both of which are ironically remakes of two classic films.

Overall:

Not entirely unwatchable but a disappointment nonetheless as you'll wait for it to get good until the credits roll and then wonder why you didn't watch Seinfeld re-runs instead.
