AltAss Ratings (On a scale of 1 to 5 asses)
Plot:
Starts somewhat slow but picks up steam and then ends badly (partly due to the true story).
Writing:
Seemed like a pretty solid effort from what I could gather reading subtitles.
Acting:
The female lead, Johanna Wokalek, stuck out as having a memorable presence and a star quality the rest of cast lacked but were not entirely incapable.
Originality:
I must say the way this film concludes makes it an extreme rarity in this genre.
Overall:
I can't say I was thoroughly delighted and entertained but this picture did have it's moments particularly during the daring ascent. The lack of any triumph whatsoever in the ending of this movie really drained the value it had built up during it's climactic moments on the mountain.
